Roadmap

The road to legend.

Done means built and tested. Anything waiting on third parties is shown openly – just like the limits.

Done

built and tested
  1. Launcher

    Native launcher in Rust

egui on wgpu; install and launch Vanilla + Fabric, parallel SHA-1 verified downloads, automatic Java, profiles, modpack and instance import, Microsoft login, benchmarks.

  2. Companion

    Companion mod for 19 versions

12 features plus telemetry for Minecraft 1.20 – 26.3 in 12 jars, each verified with an in-world self-test.

  3. Visuals

    Visuals tier 1 & 2 + Cosmos look

Ambience, sand trail, shockwave, Corona of Ra, Sky of Nut, Nile aurora, sandstorm, glass rain – plus the Cosmos look and the in-game menu.

  4. Mods

    Modrinth & CurseForge integrated

Built-in browser for mods, resource packs and shaders with one-click install, update, rollback and removal.

  5. Security

    Signed self-updater

Ed25519-signed release.json, SHA-256 verified download, in-place swap of the running .exe.

  6. Runtime

    R0 – Feasibility

Rust engine built and benchmarked: 3 to 4 times the FPS at render distance 16, 9 times faster startup.

  7. Runtime

    R1 – “Runtime” launch mode

Runtime profile type for 26.3 with a signed build, launch window and logs – title screen after 3.3 s.

  8. Runtime

    R2 / R2b / R2c – Visuals in the engine

Ambience, colour grading, chroma, bokeh, motion blur, Cosmos sky, mist and cyberspace as native Rust mods.

  9. Runtime

    R2d – Movement & combat

Trail, jump rings, shockwave, hit sparks, golden block outline, Apophis crosshair and low-health edge.

  10. Platform

    Linux x86_64

Launcher and Runtime for Linux, built against glibc 2.31 – runs on Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 11 and Fedora 32 or newer.

In Progress

underway or waiting on third parties
  1. Runtime

R2e – Cosmetics in the Runtime

Up next: headdress, relics, weapons/slash, cape, hand movement, glass, radiance and name tags – needs entity geometry and the player model.

  2. Accounts

    Microsoft approval

Login is done. Mojang still has to approve the Apophis app for the Minecraft API – until then the final sign-in step fails.

  3. Release

    Public update channel

Self-updater and signing tool are done; public releases still need the channel URL.

Planned

next in the pipeline
  1. Runtime

    R3 – Apophis API & mods

A stable mod interface, its own mod format and a mod browser for Apophis mods.

  2. Loader

    Forge & NeoForge

Already in the data model – launching isn't supported yet.

  3. Companion

    Companion before 1.20

The companion mod for older Minecraft versions is still open.

  4. Visuals

    Tier 3 – Player cosmetics

Soft hand, Apophis cape, name-tag cards, golden glow, sickle bow, 3D skins.

  5. Visuals

    Custom time of day

Client-side time of day for rendering only – needs a time mixin per Minecraft version.

  6. Platform

    macOS

A macOS build is planned; there isn't one yet.
